WBCSD was in Davos for the World Economic Forum last week where we met with member company CEOs, hosted industry events with government and business leaders and launched some new publications and projects. This included our new circular economy project Factor10 and a new report on circular economy that we co-authored with Boston Consulting Group. In total, WBCSD lead six events throughout the week in Davos, on issues ranging from food to finance and from zero-emission mobility to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into corporate risk management systems. New faces for 2018

 
 

We are delighted to be joined this month by new companies who became WBCSD members at the beginning of the year. These include Abbott, Bain & Company, LeasePlan, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, State Power Investment Corporation and Microsoft Corporation. The new year also brings a new Chair to WBCSD - co-founder and Group CEO of Olam International Sunny Verghese, who officially took up his position at the beginning of this year. Together, we look forward to accelerating the transition to a sustainable world.

The legacy of the Business & Sustainable Development Commission

 
 

At the World Economic Forum last week the Business and Sustainable Development Commission announced the wind up of its two-year mission to articulate a compelling business case for the realization of the SDGs. WBCSD has been closely involved in shaping and disseminating the Commission’s work and will continue to build upon the strong foundations that it has established. We want your feedback on our forests sector guide

 
 

In partnership with the Natural Capital Coalition, WBCSD’s Forest Solution Group is developing standardized guidance for any business within the forest products value chain to measure, value and ultimately manage their relationship with the environment. Feedback is being accepted on the draft guide until 28 February and we would love to hear from you.
